Understand the organisation of travel and accommodation

Assessment Criteria:

  • Describe the features of different types of business travel and accommodation
  • Explain the purpose of confirming instructions and requirements for business travel and accommodation
  • Explain the purpose of keeping records of business travel and accommodation

Features

Confirming instructions and requirements: By confirming the details it makes for an easy journey and stay. You will know where you are travelling from and when, allowing you to give yourself enough time to get there; you can organise the appropriate documentation to be taken.

Keeping records: It is good to keep records of your travel and accommodation, including, destination, dates, costs, agencies/companies used. The reason for this is because you may be taxed if you cannot show that it was a company expense, it also allows for cross referencing. May want to use same company again in the future, having a record will make it easier to find who they were.

If a trip was successful, you can use the same plan again for the next business trip.
